It’s that special time of year again. That time when Lake Washington School district kindergarten round up begins. a time of joy, tears, happiness an laughter for parents. Actually, it’s pretty much the most emotional time in the parenting marathon since birth. I wish there was a support ground round up for parents. <3 None the less, Redmond Wa community, let’s round up the class of 2030 and watch our youngsters bravly march into the rest of their lives…..school. (Ok, so at least the next 13 years of their life….probably more) And so it begins.
Our hearts flutter as we see our preschoolers march away to the wondrous word of full day elementary school and morph into kindergartners. This is a big ole’ year for our family. This year marks the year that my youngest trots off to kindergarten and my ‘baby years’ are officially over. I feel we ran the first few miles of this parenting marathon well, but will truly miss the excitement that the beginning brought. But let’s be honest, I won’t miss the slobber and poopy diapers. Nope— happy that is in the past. Honestly, I am proud to see him confidently walk into this next phase of life. No really I am, does that sound convincing? But I’m also reminiscing on that sweet lil’ baby phase that seems like it was just yesterday. I mean, it was just yesterday, wasn’t it? Where is the parent support group round up at again?
